Searching for Stamps

Searching for stamps can be accomplished in several different ways.

Our quick-search options allow you to search by various criteria. You can select to search by topic. Or, if you prefer, you can view only New Issues, or New Topical Issues

The easiest is to select your country and accept the default on the remaining choices. If you are interested in country sections other than regular issues (airmails, postage dues, etc.) then you can add to your search criteria by selecting from one of the preselected options in the Country Sections drop-down menu. Don't see what your looking for there? Select Other Country Sections and you'll be taken to a menu containing all the sections unique to that country.

Other search options include searching for certain types of items (blocks, covers, etc). This can be done by making a choice from the Variety drop-down menu. Please be aware that not all dealers code their inventory for varieties, so if you search only by variety you may miss any uncoded items that would otherwise display.

Lastly, you can search by catalog and catalog number. The default catalog choice is Multiple. This choice will display the the results by the default catalog given to us by the dealer. You can also search by a specific catalog. Only those catalogs which we have in our database are available options. To search by the catalog number simply input the catalog number you wish to search for. The results page will display a list of stamps beginning with your selection, or the next available one.

If you receive a message that no items were found, or if what is returned is not what you were searching for, you should reconsider your search criteria. Also, check to see that you did not make a contrary selection. Selecting USA regular issues and inputting a catalog number of C53 will return a list of regular issues beginning with number 53 - not airmail issues.

TIP! Use your keyboard to help make selections from the drop=down menu. For example, if you key the letter "U" while the country menu is open the cursor will jump to the beginning of the U's.
